CLW held two presentations on Fire Safety and Prevention for Deaf and Hard of Hearing consumers (Framingham and Worcester) with a combined attendance of approximately 50. Representatives from the Framingham and Worcester Fire Departments presented. Consumers were eager to learn about fire safety and had many questions for the presenters. Visual and tactile fire/smoke and carbon monoxide alarms will be distributed to DHILS consumers for use in their homes.
The educational workshops and free equipment is made possible by a grant through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Federal Emergency Management Agency Assistance to Firefighters programs. For more information on this and other programs please contact CLW
